Biography

Doctor Karan Bains is an emergency medicine resident physician at UCSF with experience in health, economics, and applying technology to ED operations. His research focuses on the use of LLMs to improve ED documentation as well as other applications of AI in the ED.

Artificial Intelligence, documentation, electronic health record, procedures, large language models

Hobbies

Playing basketball and tennis, watching my hometown Cleveland sports teams, especially the Cavs; spending time with friends and family

Goals for the Future

Design and implement ED innovations which fit within clinical workflows and improve quality of care for patients.
